June 1 – Wreckless Eric, Police, Blink-182

Personable British singer Wreckless Eric (Goulden)’s eponymous first album is released by Stiff Records (UK#46).
While his work is largely lost/ignored at, great tracks like (I’d Go The) Whole Wide World and its flip side Semaphore Signals are still around to remind us what a lot of tossers Stiff could be.
Rags & Tatters
In 2001 Mojo magazine recognizes Wide World as one of the ‘punk scorchers’ of the past 25 years. Somewhere out there are 5 tracks recorded for the two Peel sessions Eric did.
Indefatigable Eric has continued to release albums ever since.  ( Website
